Essential Oils vs Synthetic Fragrance Oils

What are Essential Oils?
Essential Oils are a natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or other source from which it is extracted.
What are Synthetic Fragrance Oils?
Synthetic Fragrance Oils are blended synthetic aroma compounds or natural essential oils that are diluted with a carrier like propylene glycol, vegetable oil, or mineral oil.
Propylene glycol has been associated with irritant and allergic contact dermatitis as well as contact urticaria in humans; these sensitization effects can be manifested at propylene glycol concentrations as low as 2%.
Mineral Oil is a liquid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum.

Our skin is the largest organ of our body and the products we use on a daily basis can and do effect the health of our skin. This is why we want to be careful to read product labels, keep it as natural as possible and nourish your body from the inside and out.
There are many skin benefits to having essential oils in our skin care. We have Lavender Essential oil for example, it has wonderful calming effects on our mental state (to help with a more relaxed sleep) and physically it's great for mild skin irritations. Combined with other carrier oils or added to body butters, or serums, Lavender Essential oil can be very effective when added to skin care products. Interestingly enough, it's also very good for your hair.
From being very helpful in the treatment of hair loss to disinfecting the scalp and skin and helping with dandruff. This essential oil is amazing in massage oils as it's very calming, soothing to the skin and creates a relaxing calm feeling. With calming effects on the nerves, relieving tension, and nervous exhaustion in general.
Here at Careful Body Care, we're committed to keeping our skin care ingredients natural and organic with little alteration for fragrance (only essential oils added). There's no room for compromising when it comes to our skin care products.
